AT Katharina Voit

I’m Katharina, an expressive Art Therapist, currently based in Paris, helping people navigate the challenges of Life Abroad with Clarity, Connection, and Creativity.

I have moved frequently- for studies, for work, for love. Each move has been a big change and a journey of adjustment to an entirely new environment. I’ve witnessed the difficulties of closing old doors, saying goodbye, letting go of familiar habits and patterns, and yet, I’ve also seen the incredible opportunities that emerge when I said “yes”.

I am interested in the idea of Home. “Home” is not just a physical place, but has a deep emotional and psychological meaning for everyone. Through art, I search for a way to give meaning to this concept of home, these transitions of moving and creating a new home away from home, expressing the feelings that come with it (sadness, hope, happiness, excitement, loneliness) and through this I support the process of transformation.

My approach to Art Therapy

I help anyone who feels lonely or lost, who struggles with adapting to a new situation, family problems, feeling bad about themselves, or the overall challenges of life and life transitions. I offer both group and one-on-one therapy.

I use a combination of art and talking to help people feel better in their bodies, minds, and emotions. Making art can help you be kinder to yourself, understand yourself better, and feel okay with who you are.

My credentials

  • I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Royal Academy of Arts in the Netherlands, where I focused on arts and social transformation, using creativity for social research and community engagement.
  • I have a Master’s level diploma from the Medical School in Hamburg in Expressive Art Therapy. I have been an active member of the European Federation of Art Therapy (EFAT) since 2021.
  • I have over 5 years of experience facilitating community arts, working in rehabilitation centers, curative education facilities, schools, and kindergartens.
  • I carry international liability insurance and am supervised by a systemic coach.
